Conciseness does not equal brevity

In this chapter on Achieving a Readable Style was verb usage and sentence length. My writing style usually ends up consisting of run on sentences that are too wordy and I end up needing to clean them up and have the same point get across in under 15 words or use multiple sentences. Especially in explanations of things my sentences tend to be somewhat wordy. My writing also usually lacks verbs within the sentences and is definitely something I will be more conscious off in making a more enjoyable read.
In one of the note fields the book mentions that "conciseness does not equal brevity." One thing I need to again, be more conscious of, and as do many others, is making sure when you do edit sentences down that they concise and not brief. This can be tricky because when trimming your sentence down, you are sometimes making it much more brief when you think its more concise. The difference being that now the sentence doesn't get the same point across or may be missing more support for the sentence to make full sense. Brevity usually lacks completeness to the sentence and all of this is something else I will be paying attention to more.
